We were happy to welcome Prof. Dr. Heechae Choi from the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science and the Advanced Materials Research Center (AMRC) at Xi’an Jiaotong–Liverpool University, Suzhou (China) in our institute today, where he held a talk titled “Atomic-Scale Modeling for Electronic and Energy Devices: From Precursor to Film.” We extend our sincere thanks to Prof. Choi for his time and the shared conversations.
Seulgi Ji successfully defended her PhD thesis, titled "Thermodynamics based design of wide band gap semiconductors"!
We are proud of her accomplishments and wish her continued success in all her future endeavors.
Our new paper, in collaboration with the Brazilian Nanotechnology National Laboratory (LNNano), Brazil, is now published online in Advanced Energy and Sustainability Research.
The recent study introduces a magnetic field–assisted chemical vapor deposition (mf-CVD) strategy to control the crystallographic orientation and electronic properties of hematite thin films.
Applying a 1 T field during growth achieved a 74 % enhancement in photoelectrochemical performance through improved charge separation, reduced surface states, and higher photovoltage.
This field-directed synthesis offers a scalable pathway to engineer metal oxide semiconductors for next-generation solar hydrogen production.
You can find our paper here: Field-Directed Growth of Hematite for Advanced Solar Hydrogen Production
