Imaging

The use of nanomaterials for diagnostics can be varied. Our research focuses on the labeling of the nanoparticles with dyes (in the core or on the particle surface), by attaching radioactive labels (e.g. 18F, 68Ga) on the particle surface or by using materials that have their detection via light excitation or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) enable (e.g. Fe3O4, Fe2O3, Au, Ag, etc.) These materials can be used in-vitro and in-vivo for diagnostic purposes, or in sensors, for example, to examine body fluids for specific biomarkers.
